About the Oakland Camera Club

Stereo photography — 3-D photography — is the marvelous craft of making pictures with the illusion of depth.

The Oakland Camera Club is a San Francisco / Bay Area organization of stereo photography enthusiasts. Join us at a club meeting to learn about the art of stereo photography and experience fantastic printed and projected 3-D photos.

The Oakland Camera Club was founded in 1934 and is a member of the Photographic Society of America. The Oakland Camera Club is a non-profit organization.

Club News

The Oakland Camera Club's new 3D HDTV will be inaugurated at our September meeting.

While 3D TV’s come with their own issues, I’ve been dissatisfied with the complex setup and iffy visual quality of our projected competitions over the last year.

Our 3D TV is HD resolution (1920x1080), uses RealD-style circular polarizer passive viewers, and supports .mpo files. At 55 inches it’s big enough for regular club meetings, but not too big to haul around.

See this month's Panoram for details.
